Meet Our Team

Vets

Gordon Richards BVetMed MRCVS
Gordon is the Senior Partner. He is experienced in all areas of medicine and surgery, but finds treating Ophthalmology cases particularly rewarding. Outside of work he is kept busy by his Gordon Setter, Flax, who he enters into dog shows both locally and further afield.

Andrew Denning BVetMed DVDI MRCVS
Andrew joined New Priory in 1995, becoming partner in 1996. Through extensive study both in the practice and at Bristol University, he has gained further specialist qualifications, including the Diploma in Diagnostic Imaging. As a result he now offers referrals in Ultrasound Scanning and Xray Interpretation to other practices locally, as well as working several days a week at other dedicated referral clinics further afield. His family's most recent addition is Milligan, The Irish Wolfhound, who joins Daisy the Border Collie plus cats Mollie and Hazel.

Greg Clark BVSc MRCVS
Greg joined the practice full time in 2006, becoming partner in 2008. Responsible for running PETS (the emergency service), he divides his time between dealing with out of hours emergency cases and the day to day running of the practice as a whole. Greg spends his time constantly wondering what trouble his mastiffs Barney and Flo are going to get up to next. Belle and Luther (the two cats) are model citizens by comparison, and regularly donate blood to help patients at the practice.

Gavin McAulay BVetMed CertEM (IntMed) CertVC MRCVS
Gavin joined New Priory in 2005. Since gaining his certificate in cardiology he is now working towards the RCVS diploma in cardiology. He is responsible for first opinion ultrasound scanning within the practice, as well as seeing referrals in cardiology from other practices locally. He sits on the BSAVA Petsavers grant awarding committee. Marrow the dachshund is in charge at home, and gets on fine with the chickens Omar, McNulty, Keema and Bird.

John Haggar MA VetMB MRCVS
John is one of our most experienced clinicians, having worked in the practice for longer than he cares to recall. An excellent surgeon, he deals with some of our more complicated soft tissue surgeries. Outside of work, he is a well-respected cultivator of hardy orchids.

Vicky Ball BVMS MRCVS
Vicky joined us in 2008. She particularly enjoys soft tissue surgery, and has gained an excellent reputation with our clients due to the caring manner in which she deals with patients and their owners. She has a Patterdale Terrier called Molly.

Philip Cussack MVB MRCVS
Philip is our most recent Vet, having joined us early 2010. He is enrolled on the Certificate in Advanced Veterinary Practice (Small Animal Surgery), and is especially keen on Orthopaedic surgery. He is also involved in the training of our student nurses. His three rescue dogs are called Jake, Ernie and Scrappy.

Nurses

Shirley Noble RVN
Shirley, our Head Nurse, has worked at New Priory for 25 years, and is the person who knows where everything lives and how everything works. She has a bouncy Labrador called Harley, who loves everyone.

Julia Boxall VN
Julia works primarily from the Peacehaven branch, and is responsible for completing all of our client's insurance claims.

Lynsey Tindall VN
Lynsey is our deputy head nurse. She is currently on maternity leave, but hopes to be back with us in 2011. She has a Diploma in Advanced Nursing (Medical). Her cats are called Alfie, Gracie and Huckleberry.

Michelle Westlake RVN
Michelle is one of our Pet Health Counsellors, and helps run our nursing clinics. These include weight clinics for our overweight patients. She is currently studying for her Diploma in Advanced Veterinary Nursing. Her elderly cat Chrissie rules the roost at home.

Keri Flint RVN
Keri is our other Pet Health Councellor, and as well as doing pet health clinics, she is also responsible for running our Puppy Parties. She has no animals herself currently, although she desperately wants a dog.

Receptionists

Gloria Citrone
Gloria has been on our front desk since 1997. She is now in charge of the team of receptionists employed by New Priory. At home her two Shih-Tzus are in charge, Buddy and Hooli.
