Priory Emergency Treatment Service (PETS)
Consultations are by appointment only - please contact reception to book an appointment. We will always see emergencies – where possible please ring us to let us know if you need to be seen urgently.
Priory Emergency Treatment Service operates at night and weekends with vets and nurses available 24 hours a day 365 days a year for advice and treatment.
Just like A&E our emergency service can get extremely busy so please be patient if another urgent emergency means you have to wait.
PETS only use well trained experienced vets all of whom have had advanced training in Emergency and Critical Care treatment. Having separate night staff allows fresh vets and nurses to take over from the normal hospital staff at the end of the day. The night vets and nurses look after hospitalised patients constantly as well as providing emergency and critical care for new emergency cases.
PETS is available throughout the night and weekend for telephone advice and can often reassure you regarding any concerns you have and advise you if your pets should be seen if you are unsure. PETS 01273 566 993 (24h)
PETS has supplies of Blood for transfusions in dogs, specialist heart medications and less common treatments including Adder Anti-Venom as well as the ability to test blood samples, administer intravenous fluids, oxygen, or even perform surgery if required 24 hours a day.
